Using R9 DirectShow Filters

Testing R9 DirectShow Filters

R9 DirectShow Filters can be tested with GraphEdit application, delivered as part of the Microsoft's DirectX SDK (can be found in [DirectX SDK root]/bin/DXUtils folder). If you don't have DirectX SDK installed, download GraphEdit from undefinedhere (application doesn't need installation, just unpack the zip file and run the graphedt.exe).

Build graph

In order to build the graph, desired filters should be inserted first.

  1. Run graphedt.exe.
  2. In main menu, select Graph>Insert Filters... dialog opens:

  3. Expand 'DirectShow Filters' category.
  4. Double click on filter name you'd like to insert into graph. All Reactor9 filter names start with 'R9'.
  5. To connect two filter pins, 'drag' one pin to another

IMPORTANT NOTE: To assure proper input format for both encoders, insert R9 Video Processor just before R9 MPEG Video Encoder and R9 Audio Processor just before the R9 MPEG Audio Encoder.

Set filter properties

To change filter properties (settings):

  1. Right click on a desired filter, from context menu select Filter Properties... Dialog with settings opens.

NOTE: All R9 DirectShow filters show Properties dialog.

Running graph

After successfully connecting the filters, you should run the graph. Three buttons on GraphEdit's toolbar control graph state:

Run Pause Stop
